July saw maximum number of crimes in Delhi this year

Out of the 46,856 crimes reported till November 15 this year, July registered the maximum with 4,836 followed by May (4,727), September (4,677) and October (4642).
According to Delhi Police statistics, January witnessed the minimum number of crimes at 3,971. In November till 15th, a total of 2,111 crimes were reported in the city.
In all other months except January, the number of cases registered was over 4,000 every month.
"We have kept the crime and law and order situation under control in Delhi. There has been a mixed trend in the crime scenario in the capital," the official said.
February (4,081) saw a marginal increase from the figures of January but March witnessed a sharp increase only to subside in April (4,345).
June registered 4,388 cases while August had 4,524 crimes reported from across the city.
The number of crimes reported in the capital rose to 52,675 in 2010 from 2009's 50,972. For the first time since 2007, last year saw the number of crimes showed a growing trend in the capital.
In 2006, the number was 84,484, while the next year saw 74,111 cases. The year 2008 saw a drastic drop to 53,072.
