Punjab: Police watch as Sarpanch roughs up woman

Punjab, Dec 5: A shocker from Punjab has stunned the nation, as a lady teacher was beaten up by a sarpanch in Mutsar district, Punjab.

The woman along with a group of teachers wanted to meet Harsimrat Kaur Badal, parliamentarian of the area.

The teachers wanted to submit their demands to the MP seeking permanent jobs.

"Balwinder Singh manhandled me and beat me up," said the victim, Varinder Kaur.

"I want justice. Police should take action otherwise I will take action on my own," she said.

"There is no formal complaint as of now. We will take action if she files a complaint," said DSP Mukhminder Singh.
