High alert in Hyderabad ahead of Babri Masjid anniversary

Security has been beefed up across the state, especially at areas prone to communal violence.
Additional forces have been deployed by the police to maintain peace after various Muslim organisations called for the day to be observed as 'black day'.
The police said that at least 6 members of Hindu Vahini were arrested in Oct for attacking the minority groups in the city.
AK Khan, police commissioner, Hyderabad said that the step was taken keeping in mind the safety of people and to avoid any such incident.
SA Huda, Additional Director General said additional parliamentary forces were also deployed in order to maintain law and order.
A political party in Hyderabad, Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) called for a shutdown in the city on Tuesday, Dec 5 to observe protest over the Babri Masjid demolition that took place in 1992. They also demanded that the mosque be rebuilt at Ayodhya again.
