Bellary by-poll: Sriramulu wins over BJP by 46,000 votes
In the poll which held on Nov 30, 2011, 74,527 votes out of the 123,000 votes has been casted in favour of Sriramulu. As the BJP representative, Gadhilingappa, has even failed to garner deposit, though, he have had secured 20,532 votes, but he could manage only 17,366.
Meanwhile, Congress' contestant had ended up in second place with 27,737 votes.
Sources said over 71 percent out of 171,000 qualified voters marked their support on their ballot. And about after 18 rounds of counting the results were declared.
Sriramulu, is expected to announce the launch of a new political party as the primary intention to uproot BJP which fielded Gadi Lingappa.
Now all the eyes on BJP party, which has just suffered a significant blow, what political strategy it applies to save its government? Sources said that BJP is in negotiation with five Independent legislators to secure support, as the party foresaw a defeat by Sriramulu.
However, now Sriramulu has proved that he is more influential in Bellary. This election results had only given potential to the Reddy camp, to threaten the stability of BJP government.
