Mumbai, Dec 3: The Mumbai Crime Branch is struggling to collect evidence against The Asian Age journalist Jigna Vora who was involved in the murder of the crime journalist of MiD-DAY, Jyotirmoy Dey. Murtuza, one of Jigna's associates made an appearance in the special court to hand over few mobile phones and SIM cards which were allegedly given to him by Vora.

Murtuzaa appeared before the court through his advocate, he was fearing that the crime branch might arrest him. He forwarded an interim bail application in the court. The court rejected his bail application after hearing his plea and asked him to be present on Dec 3 for the hearing.

Jigna Vora's police custody has been extended to Dec 5 as she has been arrested for murder of MiD-DAY journalist. The Crime Branch has declared Chhota Rajan as the mastermind in the journalist's murder.

MiD-DAY reporter Jyotirmoy Dey who headed the special investigative team in the newspaper was shot dead on Jun 11 by few unidentified bike-borne assailants.
