Condition of Mamata Banerjee's mother still critical

Kolkata, Dec 1: The condition of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's mother, Gayetri Banerjee, who is on life support for a kidney-related ailment, remained 'critical' today (Dec 1).

"Her condition continues to remain critical. Various health parameters are often fluctuating. She is on life support in the ICU," Director of Medical Education Sushanta Banerjee said. Gayetri Banerjee, 81, was admitted to the state-run SSKM Hospital last Friday and underwent dialysis, he said.

A medical board formed under R Pande was monitoring her condition. The chief minister visited her mother at the hospital yesterday afternoon. State's Environment Minister Sudarshan Ghosh Dastidar also visited the CM's mother this morning.
