Karunanidhi
Chennai, Nov 29: The name of another former DMK Minister, Pongalur N Palanisamy has been added to the the list of leaders and ministers who have been raided by the vigilance Department over land grabbing issue.

Vigilance officers conducted raids at Palanisamy's residences and offices on Tuesday, Nov 29. The raid comes at a time when DMK Chief Karunanidhi's daughter, Kanimozhi is expected to return home in Chennai after spending almost 7 months in prison.

Vigilance officers conducted raids at three places - Coimbatore, Tirupur and Chennai. Palanisamy was the Rural Industries Minister during the DMK regime in Tamil Nadu.

Here it can be recalled that following several complaints over illegal land grabbing in the state, many DMK leaders experienced the wrath of the vigilance officers. The other DMK leaders were - K Ponmudi, Veerapandi S Arumugam, KN Nehru, NKKP Raja and MRK Paannerselvam.

It seems that when Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK Chief, Jayalalithaa has once again bruised the celebration of Karunanidhi and his party members over Kanimozhi's bail.

Kanimozhi, who was arrested on 20 May, 2008, has been accused of allegedly accepting bribes to the tune of Rs 200 crore for Kalaignar TV - where she owns a stake of 20 percent.
