Ex-DMK minister's houses raided by vigilance dept in TN

Chennai, Nov 24: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) on Thursday (today) morning conducted raids on properties and residence of Durai Murugan, former law minister in the DMK government in Tamil Nadu.

Sources said that the vigilance department raided nine of his properties in Chennai, Vellore and Kancheepuram on charges of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. Meanwhile, Murugan is the eight DMK minister to be raided by vigilance department since July.

Earlier in Oct this year, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption conducted searches at the residence of DMK leader and former minister Suresh Rajan in Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts on charges of possessing disproportionate assets.
