TN: Man kills wife infront of women police personnel

Madurai, Nov 21: A 43-year-old lorry driver killed his wife infront of women police personnel inside the Samayanallur police station then escaped from the spot.

The couple used to fight frequently as Kannan suspected his wife Muthulakshmi over infidelity. They went to the police station for counselling. Police thinks that the murder was pre-planned as the accused brought the weapon along with him.

The incident took place infront of three women police personnel. As the officers were busy attending the murdered woman, the accused fled from the spot.

A month back, Muthulakshmi, the victim left the house after a quarrel and went to Coimbatore. Her father lodged a police complaint about her daughter's missing, she was brought back to Madurai. Since then, she was staying with her father along with her kids.

Kanna and Muthulakshmi went to the police station with their advocates and when "halfway through, Kannan picked up a fight with Muthulakshmi in front of the cops and when she retorted, he pulled out a knife and stabbed her in the neck multiple times," said a cop.
