Ambala explosives meant to kill Congress leader

Chandigarh, Oct 31: Banned terror outfit, Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) has claimed the responsibilty of the haul of explosives that was recovered from a car outside the Ambala Cantonment Railway Station on Oct 12.

The banned terror outfit in a press release that was issued on Oct 23 from Patiala said that they wanted to avenge the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and kill the accused Congress leader, Sajjan Kumar.

Kumar is one the main accused in the 1984 Anti-Sikh riots. The Congress leader is facing trial for stirring up a mob that killed six people in New Delhi during the ongoing riots after the assassination of Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India.

The reports aslo reveal that the actual plan was to target Kumar when he appeared for a court hearing in the the Karkardooma Court, East Delhi on October 19 in connection with the 1984 Sikh riots case.

The KTF has also claimed in the press release that they will keep trying to kill Sajjan Kumar till they succeed.

Police found a car laden with explosives, timer devices, RDX and detonators while on their routine check. The car was found at the Ambala Cantonment railway station parking area on Oct 12.

Investigations revealed that the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI)and Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) were planning to attack the country ahead Diwali.
