Arunachal CM Jarbom Gamlin submits resignation

Arunachal Pradesh
Itanagar, Oct 29: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jarbom Gamlin has submitted his resignation following a meeting with AICC leaders on Friday night. There has been a leadership crisis of sorts brewing in Arunachal and this has led to the CM taking this decision.

Gamlin initially submitted his resignation to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and will later submit it to the Governor. Arunachal Congress President Nabam Tuki has also submitted his resignation.

There are reports emerging that suggest Gamlin was asked to quit to put an end to the leadership crisis in the state. Gamlin was dogged by various allegations in recent times including an abduction charge of senior state Cabinet minister, Chowma Mein. The minister was allegedly kidnapped at gun point for a few hours from Itanagar.

Congress leaders from the state had met Congress chief Sonia Gandhi last week to discuss the matter.
