Bihar: Japanese girl gangraped, accused held after 1 year

Rape
Gaya, Oct 28: A Japanese girl was gang-raped in 2010 when she was on her way to visit Bodh Gaya in Bihar. After a minute investigation, police arrested the main accused almost one and a half year after the incident from the same place.

Ranjan Yadav, who was earlier declared as an absconder, has been arrested when police conducted a raid at a place under Pharaiya police station.

The victim, 24-year-old Nomura came from Japan to visit India. On Apr 16, 2010, when she was travelling from Gaya to Bodh Gaya station, she was attacked by five persons and was gang raped.

However, police had arrested three persons in ten days of the incident and through speedy trial, a court had convicted three of them. The horrible case seems to have stepped one step forward towards its end on Friday, Oct 28 when the main accused, Yadav has been caught in the police net.

The case will be solved when the fifth accused is arrested. However, police claimed that they have intensified the operation to arrest the absconding culprit.
