Not Taj Mahal but Mysore palace in world's MUST VISIT list !

Mysore Palace
Bangalore, Oct 27: Mysore palace of Karnataka grabbed a rank in the list of 31 "Must Visit" places by New York Times. What surprises many is - Taj Mahal, which is one of the seven wonders of the world, failed to find a place in the list.

According to sources, an average of 2.5 million tourists visit Mysore palace every year from all over the world. Meanwhile, a senior official from tourist department said, "Hardly does the Mysore Palace or the city get left out of a tour itinerary involving either Karnataka or south India."

The recent development indeed enhanced the pride of all Indians. However, sources also informed that nearly 2 to 3 million visitors come to the Taj Mahal annually, and nearly a quarter million arrive from overseas.

Here it can be recalled that a rumour recently hit the reputation of the 358-year-old monument stating that it (Taj Mahal) will collapse within less than five years.

Last year, some cracks appeared at parts of the tomb following which the four minarets surrounded the mausoleum are leaning.
