Actor Ronit Roy gets bail, asked to pay only Rs 12,000

Mumbai, Oct 27: Television actor Ronit Roy, who was arrested in a rash driving and accident case, has been granted bail by Bandra court in Mumbai on Thursday, Oct 27.

Mr Roy has been asked to pay Rs 12,000 as the surety. Three people were seriously injured. Police arrested Mr Roy over a hit-and-run case.

One of the victims involved in the accident was a 56-year-old woman who has been hospitalised in Andheri and under went surgery.

The actor, however, said that he was not under the influence of alcohol while driving and was on his way back home when the incident occurred.

The incident took place in Amboli area of Suburban Mumbai at 7 am on Thursday. Mr Roy's counsel, however, claimed that it was not a gruesome criminal case to bar Roy to get bail.
