Kejriwal: We shall offer ourselves to be beaten up

Ralegan-Siddhi (Maharashtra), Oct 15: Following the dramatic turn of events after activist and Supreme Court lawyer Prashant Bhushan was attacked by assailants for his views on Kashmir, it has now emerged that Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal and others are receiving threat calls and SMSes.

Kejriwal has been quoted as saying, “Since yesterday (Friday), we have been getting these calls and messages from some unknown people who threaten to attack us and our office." Taking a bold stand, Kejriwal said that in case of any such similar attacks they would not “retaliate".

Kejriwal added, “We believe that violence is not the solution. However, if some people feel that by attacking us they can solve the problems of corruption in the country, we shall offer ourselves to be beaten up by them."

Kejriwal stated that volunteers have stationed outside Team Anna offices to ward off any untoward incidents. He called the threats "part of a conspiracy" to derail the movement.
