Mumbai: Woman arrested for sending lewd SMSes

Mumbai, Oct 13: A 37-year-old woman was arrested by the Mumbai police for allegedly sending lewd messages to the members of her housing society.

The accused, Neeta D'Mello, resident, Bhumi Park Society, Malad following a dispute with the members of her society, plotted to take revenge on the society members along with her friend, said police.

“Once when the society members had gone to Lonavala for a picnic, one of the members had passed a comment on the hairstyle of D"Mello, which irked her," said a police officer.

The accused with the help of her friend registered herself with a bulk SMS website, with a fake name and then started sending lewd messages to her society members.

“The society members lodged a complaint with the cyber police. On making inquiries with the bulk SMS company, we learned that D"Mello was involved in the crime. Then we nabbed her," said a police officer.
