Cash-for-votes: Amar Singh moves Delhi High Court for bail
Amar's bail plea was earlier rejected after the court rejected his plea to travel abroad for further treatment.
Amar Singh was arrested on Sept 6 along with two other BJP MPs in in the cash for vote scam. After complaining of ill health, the former Samajwadi leader was taken to AIIMS where it came to light that he was suffering from various ailments.
Amar was granted bail by the Tees Hazari court on medical grounds after he furnished a personal surety bond of Rs 2 lakh and surrendered his passport for the same.
The interim bail that was granted to Amar on health grounds stated that he will not be allowed to travel abroad.
Having undergone a kidney transplant in Singapore earlier, Amar Singh's health is said to be in a fragile condition and is prone to infections and other complications. Following the arrest, Singh had to deal with UTI, increased serum creatinine, vitamin B12 deficiency and increased TSH.
