Has RTI become a 'wrong' weapon to bring out truth?
New Delhi, Sep 26: Right To Information (RTI) Act, which was first implemented in 2005, reportedly has been misused by several entrepreneurs with dubious motives, either of their own or of their hidden clients.
Media reports claimed that the reason behind such acts are - to harass the honest, delay governmental work and bring in unnecessary suspicion into every decision that the government takes.
A report by FIRSTPOST, shows that RTI, which empowers the aam-admi to know the truth with proper information, is being used in several malpractices.
Court also strongly criticised such practices and also penalised various culprits. RTI, however, promises to give citizens the right to the activities done by the government and other bureaucracy.
