CBI snoops down on Reddy Brothers again; raids OMC offices

The OMC is owned by the Reddy Brothers and the CBI team snooped on their offices and seized files and CDs from there hoping to gather crucial evidence regarding their amassing of riches through illegal mining.
This being the second such raid at the OMC offices in Bellary, the first raid was carried out in Dec 10, 2009. This time around, the 11 member team entered the OMC offices in a surprise visit and broke open the office to seize four hard discs, three computers and a number of files and CDs.
The Managing Director of OMC, Srinivas Reddy and the owner of the company, Janardhana Reddy were arrested from their Bellary residence on Sept 5 after being indicted in the illegal mining scam. They have been sent to judicial custody till Oct 3 and are currently housed at the Chanchalguda Central Prison in Hyderabad.
The Supreme Court had ordered the CBI to look into the link between mining activities in Bellary in Karnataka and Ananthpur district in Andhra Pradesh as Reddy brothers were a common thread in dubious activities at both places.
