Mumbai, Sep 24: Bollywood actor, Vivek Oberoi's mother-in-law, Nandini Alva has been accused of cheating a cab firm and refusing to pay Rs 17 lakh to the firm for the vehicles provided during the dancer's daughter's wedding.

Nandini Alva, a dancer had hired the service of CabsIndia after she paid them a advance of Rs 3 lakh from Oct 24 to Oct 29.

The cabs were used to ferry the guests from airport and take them around in the city to shop. Several months after the wedding, Nandini Alva failed to pay the dues to the company following which the company was forced to take the legal route desipte several reminders sent to her.

"Since the complaint is of breach of agreement, we have asked the complainant to take it further through the courts," said Ramamurthy, inspector, SR Nagar police station.

The company after that issued a legal notice through their lawyer and warned to file a civil suit against the actor's mother-in-law if she failed to pay the pending bills.

Reports suggest after the notice, Nandini cleared her dues and also issued a cheque in the name of the company.

Police said that Nandini in her argument claimed that the company tried cheating her by issuing fake records and trying to get a huge amount from her.

The company officials, however, argued back that they had the records of the number of cab services used during the marriage, with the details of kilometers and destinations travelled by her guests.
