TN N-plant: Jayalalithaa magic works, protestors end fast

"Indefinite fast against Kudankulam Nuclear Project will be withdrawn," stated Udhaya Kumar after the meeting with Tamil Nadu CM in the state capital.
The leader also added, "The CM has sent a message, which I shall give the PM. I have also held discussions with the protesters and I shall appraise the PM of the developments."
The hunger strike started following a proposal of building two 1,000 MW power plants by Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) aided by Russia.
Fearing environment pollution, fishermen of the coastal region also joined the hunger strike claiming that the new Russian reactors will be a threat to their safety.
