2G: No clean chit to Maran, no evidence against Shourie
Reports suggest that no clean-chit has been given to Maran, while no proof has been found against Arun Shourie.
Maran allegedly forced C Sivasankaran, owner of Aircel, to sell the telecom company to Maran's Malaysia-based friend T Ananda Krishnan in 2006. The reports added that Maran, during his tenure as a Communication Minister in UPA I government, issued spectrum licenses to Astro, a sister company of Maxis, soon after it purchased stake in Sun TV, which is owned by Maran's brother Kalanidhi Maran and family.
Meanwhile, the CBI also rejected to initiate any investigation against P Chidambaram over 2G spectrum scam.
Supreme Court earlier had directed Subramaniam Swamy to table proofs against Chidambaram.
The Central Bureau of investigation (CBI) also claimed that the Supreme Court can not direct them (CBI) to initiate probe, though it accepted that trial court can direct them about the investigation regarding the second generation telecom spectrum scam.
