Hyderabad, Sept 17: The Suzuki superbike which claimed the life of Azharuddin's younger son Ayazuddin was registered in the name of a small shoe trader from old city in Hyderabad. I-T official are now checking whether Azharuddin bought the bike in the trader's name to avoid attention of the I-T department.

On July 2010, the Suzuki GSX R1000 bike was imported from Nagoya, Japan by a bike dealer named Bittoo Bike Wala of Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi for Rs 5.27 lakh plus 88% tax.

Syed Ather Ali of Fazal Sagar in Mallepally, Hyderabad, bought the bike from Bittoo Bike Wala bike dealer on December 23, 2010 by paying Rs 13,12,649. Meanwhile, the dealer has claimed that the bike was actually being bought for Azharuddin.

Police on Friday, Sept 16 went to Syed Ather Ali's home to verify the ownership document. However, Ather Ali was not at home. Later, police learnt that he has went to Mecca Masjid to participate in the janaza of Ayazuddin, who died on Friday morning, Sept 16.

Later, police confirmed that Ali was the actually owner of the bike and asked Ali to submit the original document by Saturday, Sept 17. Police also said that Ali hails from Kanpur and a family friend of Azhar. Ali owns a footwear shop, Noble Footwear, at Agapura in the Old City.
