Woman attempts suicide for Salman's 'Bodyguard'!
A 26-year-old woman took the extreme step when her husband refused to take her to the cinemas to watch the Salman Khan blockbuster. The movie has been touted as a runaway success raking in crores in the first week of release.
The attempted suicide over the trivial cause was staged by a resident of Murlidhar Society, Kathwada, Anjana Parikh. Married to Amit, who works as an Assistant Manager at Naroda GIDC for the last three years, Anjana had constant tiffs with her husband earlier as well. They have a one-year old child and lives with Amit's extended family.
A police official explaining the circumstances behind the suicide attempt stated, "The couple had been having frequent quarrels with Anjana accusing Amit of not giving her adequate time. The last straw came when Amit refused to take her to the movie 'Bodyguard' for which she was insisting for the past two weeks. On Wednesday, when Anjana asked Amit again about the movie, he told her to wait for some more days. This angered Anjana so much that she locked herself up in her bedroom and consumed pesticide."
When Anjana locked herself up in the bedroom in anger, Amit and other members in the family found her unconscious. She was immediately rushed to a hospital nearby at around 10:30 pm and was declared out of danger soon after.
