Stone Pelting back in JK; Eid prayers, celebration hampered

The youths protested over the arrest of some 70 people, who were detained over the same act on Aug 20. Stones were thrown at the security personnel, though no has been injured in the agitation.
Citing the protest from the youths, police started using tear gas and baton charge to disperse the agitators at the Eidgah, Safakadal and adjoining areas in Srinagar.
Last year the valley had experienced a ghastly situation when thousands of youths came on roads and joined an agitation against the police and the state government. The protest was marked as stone pelting agitation when the Valley had witnessed massive agitations accompanied by violence and stone pelting since the beginning of Jun 2010.
