Delhi police clears Anna's way for fast, sec 144 withdrawn

New Delhi, Aug 18: It seems that Delhi police is trying its best to remove all hurdles from the path of Anna Hazare's fast protest as section 144 has been removed from JP Park and Raj Ghat which were earlier barred for Anna's supporters to gather at.

On Tuesday, Aug 16, section 144 was imposed at JP Park, Raj Ghat and several other places in the national capital preventing mass gathering to foil Anna's plan to resume fast-unto-death protest at JP Park.

However, putting an end to the two-day long logjam between Team Anna and the Delhi police, the two group reached to a consent. The Gandhian crusader accepted Delhi police's proposal and will stage his hunger-strike at Ramlila Maidan for 14 days.

One of the crucial members of Team Anna - Kiran Bedi informed that Anna accepted the proposals without any pressure from the Delhi police to accept any condition. Anna will be released on Thursday, Aug 18 afternoon. He will move to Ramlila maidan by 3 PM.

Bedi said Delhi police showed "great understanding" and she has always maintained that the city police was capable. She said the Delhi Police, the Anna team and MCD would work together to prepare the Ramlila Ground for Hazare's protest.
