Bollywood mourns Shammi Kapoor's demise through Twitter

Mumbai, Aug 14: The entire Bollywood have expressed grief over the death of veteran actor Shammi Kapoor, who died on Sunday, Aug 14 due to chronic renal failure and succumbed to related illness.

The microblogging site Twitter and other social networking sites like Facebook and Google Plus were flooded with condolence messages. Bollywood stars and directors expressed their commiseration through their Twitter accounts. Read Shammi Kapoor Career & Profile.

"Shammi Kapoor ji passed away this morning at 5:15 am .. Rushing there now .. the flamboyance and joi de verve of the Industry lost !," Amitabh Bachchan tweeted.

"Sad to hear the demise of Shammiji, the YAHOO of Indian Cinema. Ur charmful exuberance & full of life style will forever be missed by all of us, RIP" filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar said in his Twitter account.

"One of finest and strongest men I knew...we will truly miss you shammi uncle....RIP....," director and producer Karan Johar said.

"Tremendous entertainer. Also one of the first champions of internet in India. RIP Shammi Kapoor. Shammi ji no one can take the place of all the "Yahoos" of our Indian hearts who loved u .. u will be missed deeply by us all," tweeted actress Celina Jaitly.

"Mr. Shammi Kapoor, RIP. You danced like nobody was watching," music director-singer Vishal Dadlani tweeted.

"Another legend passes away..Shammiji Kapoor..such a jovial and positive person..had the good fortune of interacting with him..rest in peace," actor Aftab Shivdasani tweeted.

"Deeply saddened at Shammi Kapoor's passing away. So full of life and energy on screen now no more, we loved you so much..may you rest in peace," actress Tisca Chopra said.

Shammi Kapoor was born as Shamsherraj Kapoor on Oct 21, 1931. He married actress Geeta Bali, but the matrimony was short-lived when she died on small pox in 1965. He was admitted to the Breach Candy hospital died at 5:15am.
