Her sick heart makes her a PM equivalent

New Delhi, Aug 5: The woman who was living in an unused urinal outside the All India institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) until two days ago awaiting heart treatment will now be operated upon by the same cardiac surgeon who treated Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

According to reports, Dr A Sampath Kumar, who was on the team that did the heart bypass procedure for the Prime Minister in January 2009 at AIIMS, will be fixing the 45-year-old woman"s heart.

Dr Sampath has been quoted as saying, “I"ll repair her damaged valve, and if there is a need for valve replacement, we"ll do it for free." The surgery is scheduled to be held next week.

Ramrati's husband Bhawanidin, was earlier quoted as saying, “I mortgaged half of my fields and deposited Rs 1 lakh at AIIMS some weeks ago." Media reports state that Dr DK Sharma, medical superintendent at AIIMS has promised to return the money, if the procedure hasn't been done.

Ramrati and her husband, who hail from Uttar Pradesh have been in New Delhi for the last three or more months. According to reports, they first lived under a tree and then in an unused urinal outside AIIMS before media began highlighting their woes.
