CBI submits preliminary report on Neeraj Gupta murder case

Allahabad, Aug 5: The CBI has submitted its preliminary report before the Allahabad High Court in connection with Neeraj Gupta murder case in Hamirpur district.

Directing to put up the report on record, a division bench comprising justices S K Singh and Surendra Singh ordered to list the case on August 29 for hearing. The report was submitted in a sealed cover.

Neeraj Gupta was murdered on August 14, 2010 under Sumerpur police station of district Hamirpur for which FIR was lodged by his father.

It was alleged that after some altercation with Wasim Khan, a relative of state cabinet minister Naseermuddin, he was murdered but police converted the case into one of suicide and later made father of the deceased as an accused in the case. On a petition, the court has directed for CBI enquiry.
