BSY meets BJP leaders; to resign on Sunday

Bangalore, Jul 30: The defiant Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has met BJP observers Arun Jaitely and Rajnath Singh for the second round of talks on Saturday, Jul 30 morning.

Sources reported that BJP's crisis over the CM post in Karnataka will come to an end on Saturday as BSY assured the party leaders that he will step down by Sunday. Sources also added that BJP national leaders told BSY and other leaders who are supporting him that BSY cannot hold the party to ransom.

BJP Legislative Party Meeting will be held soon to elect Yeddyurappa's successor, but party has not yet finalised the successor. The official announcement of the new Karnataka Chief Minister will be out only after BSY's resignation.

Earlier, Party State Chief Eshwarappa on Friday said that there was no ego complex between BSY and national observers.

"There is no ego in our party. This shows the humility of Jaitley and Rajnath Singh. They worked to resolve the crisis. This is a matter that will be resolved, small misunderstandings are normal. This should not be seen as loss of face for the party high command or the erosion of its authority," Eshwarappa had said.
