UP: Farmers from Maya's village to move Allahabad HC

Allahabad, Jul 28: The farmers hailing from CM Mayawati's village, Badalpur have moved to Allahabad High court following the land acquisition of 230 hectares of land in the village.

According to the farmers, there have been discrimination amongst the farmers. They have complained that some farmers were favoured by the state government and given prime land along the national highway, while others had to settle for much less compensation. They also say that land was acquired from them for planned development but was subsequently sold to private developers and builders.

The UP government has acquired 300 hectares of land in Badalpur village. At the time of acquisition, the Greater Noida Authority had said the land was being acquired for a factory, however, no work has been commenced so far.
