Brothers force sister to marry 65-year-old man for Rs 2 lakh

Jaisalmer, Jul 24: A 55-year-old woman alleged that her brothers were trying to get her to married to 65-year-old man after taking 2 lakh from the latter.

The woman, who hails from Kaprau, Chauhatan, approached the police seeking protection. According to Ramnivas Meena, officiating SP, Barmer, the woman, Sara, refused marriage but her brothers Loonga Khan, Sodra Khan and her nephews Bhaar Khan, Sher Khan and Mathar Khan were trying to get her married forcefully to Imam Khan after making a deal with him.

The brothers even conspired to kidnap her but Sara was saved after her neighbours stepped in.

The woman has been provided security and the police is on a lookout for her brothers who are now absconding, said the SP.
