Rajnikanth concerned about Kanimozhi

Chennai, Jul 15: While Chennai brightens up on Superstar Rajnikanth's return from Singapore, the Tamil legend without wasting time called up DMK president M Karunanidhi to enquire about his jailed daughter DMK MP Kanimozhi.

On Thursday, Jul 14 the Tamil superstar had a telephonic conversation with Karunanidhi. Rajnikanth who is recuperating from a reported kidney ailment returned home on Wednesday, Jul 13. He was undergoing treatment at a Singapore hospital for nearly one-and-half months.

"Rajini thanked Kalaignar (Karunanidhi) and enquired about his health and about Kanimozhi's well-being,' a DMK press release in Chennai said.

Kanimozhi, accused in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation scam is now behind the bars of Tihar jail. After visiting her, father Karunanidhi had lamented that she was shut in the prison in an 'inhuman manner' and that she was suffering from blisters and swellings on her body.

Karunanidhi had also spoken to Rajinikanth when he was undergoing treatment in a Singapore hospital.
