Mum Blasts 2011: Prime Minister, Sonia Gandhi visit injured

Mumbai, Jul 15: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi, Congress President met those injured in the Jul 13 Mumbai blasts.

On his visit, the Prime Minister along with Sonia Gandhi held a meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister, Prithviraj Chavan and other Congress MPs and met the injured at JJ Hospital and Saifee Hospital.

"Cannot find words to condemn the barbaric acts of terror that resulted in the senseless killing and injuring of innocent people. I share their pain, anguish and anger," said a PMO statement on behalf of the PM.

"Now the task is to find out the culprits," said the PM as he vowed to find those behind the attacks.

“The state administration has risen remarkably well and within an hour of the tragedy victims were taken to hospitals. There has also been remarkable coordination between the state and the Centre. Now our task is to catch who the culprits are," said the Prime Minister talking to the media.

Although Sonia Gandhi did not give any statement during the visit, she interacted with those injured, said sources.

The Congress body, Mumbai appealed to Manmohan Singh that the kin of the victims be considered for an employment. Ajith Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister and RR Patil, Home Minister were also present during the visit.
