Beed: Minor girl burnt alive for resisting rape

Rape
Beed, Jul 8: A horrifying incident where a 16-year-old minor girl was burnt alive for resisting rape on Wednesday, Jul 6 shocked the entire society. This incident took place in Maharashtra's Beed district.

The deceased's father claimed that his daughter was alone at home when their neighbour Jeevan Kale tried to rape her. But when she resisted, he poured kerosene on the girl and set her on fire.

"He barged into our house and tried to force himself on my daughter. When she tried to defend herself, he beat her up and set her on fire," said Sunil Jadhao, victim's father.

Though the girl was rushed to the hospital, she died to burn injuries and was cremated Thursday, Jul 7. Kale is now absconding. Police have registered a case of murder against him under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Jeevan Kale, the accused, is a second year student doing D-Ed course at the Maharudra Mote College at Girvali in Osmanabad district.
