Sun Pictures COO arrested over cheating charges

The arrest was based on a complaint filed by T S Selvaraj who alleged that Saxena had engaged in intimidation and cheating. Saxena had produced the Tamil film Theerada Vilayattu Pillai on behalf of Sun Pictures and later sold the distribution rights for Salem to Selvaraj at Rs 1.25 crore.
Saxena violating the above contract had gone ahead and distributed the movie on his own with the help of local theaters. After this, Selvaraj had demanded Rs 82.53 lakh from Saxena which he delayed paying. Saxena also threatened Selavaraj on Jan 5, 2011 when he asked the money. The film was released last year.
The police held Saxena while he was returning from Hyderabad and was arrested soon after his arrival at the Central Crime Branch wing of the city police.
Police said, Saxena who was coming from Hyderabad by an evening Air India flight, was arrested on his arrival by the Central Crime Branch wing of the city police. He was later taken to the Adyar police station for further questioning and later to the magistrate who remanded him to custody.
