Gujarat: Teenage girl gangraped, dumped in well

Ahmedabad, Jun 30: A 17-year-old teenage girl was raped and dumped into a well by three youths at Simodi village in Santrampur taluka, Gujarat.

According to police sources, who have already started probing the case, the 17 -year-old girl is a resident of Upleta and is a student of class 10. Her father is a government servant in Upleta.

A case have been lodged against Ramsinh Mahida, Shanti Mahida and Ashwin Mahida. The three have been accused of gang raping a minor girl. The cops have sent the victim for medical examination.

It is believed that one of the accused, Ramsinh is the boyfriend of the girl, and they used to talk constantly on the phone. Few days before the incident, Ramsinh called the girl to Santrampur by promising to marry her, said the source.

"Ramsinh then took her to Simodi village where he kept her for a day and raped her. Later, he called one of his friends Shanti, who also raped her," said the source. It added that the girl was also beaten after being raped.

When the accused realised that they could be held for the crime, they decided to kill the teen, said the source. They called one of their friends Ashwin to the village, who after raping her, beat her mercilessly in an attempt to kill her.

After being beaten up mercilessly, the girl fell unconscious and the rapists thought her to be dead and dumped her in the well. The victim's parents and villagers found her in the well while looking for her.
