Congress and BJP both confident about winning Jebera bypoll

"There is no way the ruling BJP is going to win the election," the Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly, Ajay Singh told PTI today on the phone from Jebera.
He said that a number of factors which are working against the BJP, will ensure its defeat in the bypolls.
Ajay said there are a number of things in favour of the Congress, including the "biggest factor" of the clean image of late Ratnesh Solomon, whose death led to the bypoll.
"I do not think there is anyone in Jebera who can say that Ratnesh ever asked him for money to get some work done", he said.
The Leader of the Opposition said, "In sharp contrast to that, Dasrath Lodhi, BJP candidate for the election, does not have a good image with the people."
He said that elections do not have much to do with the development and added that the problems in Jebera constituency were almost similar to the ones in the constituency of the Chief Minister Shivrajsingh Chouhan.
However, state BJP President Prabhat Jha exuded confidence that his party would win the byelection. He told this to the PTI over phone from Jebera. Jha said that no development had taken place in Jebera for the past 20 years.
He said the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's image would boost the chances of winning for the ruling party.
He said that people in Jebera know that some real development can take place in the constituency only if the BJP wins the byelection from there.
While Ajay Singh has been camping in Jebera since the day the nominations were filed, Jha ,too, has spent most of his time in the constituency.
