Father's love for daughter: Karunanidhi to meet Kani in jail

New Delhi, Jun 21: After the Supreme Court outplayed DMK MP Kanimozhi's dream to stay with her minor son, her father could not restrain himself from meeting his daughter. The former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Tuesday, Jun 21 is expected to meet Kanimozhi in Tihar jail.

The Supreme Court on Jun 20 rejected the bail plea of Kanimozhi who has been lodged in Delhi's Tihar jail for over a month now. Kanimozhi along with Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar is accused of receiving a bribe of whopping Rs 200 crore in connection with the 2G spectrum scam.

It was the third consecutive bail rejection for the duo as Delhi High Court and a trial court had earlier dismissed their bail pleas. Sources also claim that Kanimozhi may have to experience the life in prison for over a year.

Though CBI could not submit the original documents which show money transferring in and out from Kalaignar TV, the investigation agency opposed the bail plea by the accused as saying, Kanimozhi and Sharad Kumar may destroy the evidences against them if they are allowed to walk free.

The father and the daughter could not meet each other on the Father's Day which was celebrated on Sunday, Jun 19. Now, it will be interesting to see whether Kanimozhi and Karunanidhi will celebrate belated Father's Day or not.
