Bhubaneshwar: Teenage girl raped in car, two held
"Police have arrested two men on charge of gang rape of a college girl in the city on Friday, Jun 10. The victim was raped by the duo who gave her a lift in a car," commissioner of police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, BK Sharma told reporters.
Police nabbed Manoranjan Sahu alias Bapu, a real estate businessman and Ajay Malia alias Tina, a local trader after receiving a complaint from the victim. According to the complaint, culprits kidnapped her on Friday while she was waiting for a bus at the busy station square area.
Both the victim and accused youths were medically examined, Sharma said adding the vehicle used in the crime was also seized.
Police officials said that case was registered against them under section 376 (rape) (2-g), 363 (kidnapping), 366 (kidnapping for marriage) and 506 criminal intimidation)of IPC.
