Mumbai media to protest Dey's brutal murder

Mumbai, June 13: Mumbai's media fraternity on Monday afternoon, June 13 would move on a procession in order to protest against the brutal murder of prominent crime reporter Jyotirmoy Dey on Saturday, June 11.

Dey, who was shot dead with five bullets by few young unidentified bike-borne assailants, was cremated in Ghtakopar. Dey's brutal killing has sent shock waves into the journalism fraternity.

Top Journalists of various print and electronic media organisations would assemble at The Press Club and march towards Mantralaya.

The Press Club, Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh, Mantralaya Ani Vidhimandal Vartahar Sangh, Mumbai Crime Reporters' Association and TV Journalists Association have decided to take part in the procession.

On Sunday, June 12, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan have directed the Mumbai police to look into the case in a faster pace without delay. He also directed for a special squad of investigators to handle the case.
