CPI(M)'s Polit Bureau meeting begins in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Jun 10: With a discussion on poll debacle in West Bengal and Kerala high on the agenda, the three-day Polit Bureau and Central Committee meetings of the CPI(M) began here today (June 10).

CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat and top leaders including Brinda Karat, Sitaram Yechury and Biman Bose are attending the meetings.

The meetings assume significance as top party leaders would be coming together for discussion for the first time after the Assembly elections in five states.

The outcome of the Assembly polls, the corruption issue including recent scams like 2G spectrum allocation and the proposed hike in petrol prices would come up for discussion, state CPM leader Y Venkateswara Rao had said yesterday.
