New Delhi, June 8: The strike by 800 workers have created tremendous pressure on car-maker Maruti at the Manesar plant. The third day of strike on Tuesday, June 7 gave a big blow as it is causing a loss of Rs.40 crore per day in sales.

The company said that the strike is costing it Rs 40 crore a day in sales and this could affect the diesel cars' delivery.

In their four days old strike, the workers demand that the Maruti Suzuki Employees' Union to be recognised by the management as they say they have to work in oppressive. But, till now there has been no solution to it.

Maruti Suzuki chairman RC Bhargava said," “Man days lost was half day on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. The loss impact in terms of production was 1,200 units per day which translates to around Rs 40 crore per day."

He also added that the company is not looking at any short-term solutions. The workers who went on a serious strike accused the company administration for trying to give recognition to another Union which is represented by people loyal to the company.
