Congress snubs Pranab's son, Mamata continues support

Kolkata, Jun 2: Congress sent five names to the Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee for induction into her ministry on Wednesday, Jun 1.

The ministers whose name have been recommended are Manoj Chakraborty, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Pramatha Nath Roy, Sunil Chandra, Sabina Yeasmin and Abu Naser Khan Chowdhury.

"I met the chief minister and submitted the list as directed by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. It is the chief minister's prerogative to announce the names and portfolios," said RC Khuntia, secretary, AICC.

Abhijit Mukherjee, the son of Pranab Mukherjee was one whose name was not in the list. His name was not in the recommendation list because of his personal conflicts within the party, though Mamata was looking forward to his induction.
