Google says NO to honour Tagore on his 150 B'day?

Technology giant Google never misses a chance to feature doodles on its search engine homepage globally and locally. The interactive and beautifully designed Google doodles remind us about special days and life of great artists and scientists.
Earlier in 2007, Google painted a special doodle to mark the birthday of Vishwa kavi Tagore, who wrote the national anthems of India and Bangladesh.
It's not clear why Google failed to feature a doodle for Tagore - the Nobel Prize winner for Literature in 1913. It may be due to Google's plan to give more importance to its Doodle4Google competition, which reached the final stage. Recently, Google announced the 40 finalists in the Doodle 4 Google contest. The winning doodle will be featured on Google US' homepage on May 20.
