Probe Sheila Dikshit's role in CWG scam: Eknath Khadse

Pune, April 27: Demanding probe into alleged role of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in connection with the CWG scam, BJP today (April 27) pitched for resignation of Suresh Kalmadi as Congress MP following his arrest by CBI.

"Kalmadi should resign as MP of Pune and CBI should probe all those involved in the CWG scam. Kalmadi is just a tip of the iceberg", Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Eknath Khadse told reporters in Pune.

Khadse said Kalmadi had pointed finger at Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit whose role in the scam too should be investigated.

Kalmadi was arrested on April 25 by CBI in connection with the Queen Baton Relay (QBR) scam. He was on the same day put under suspension by the party.

A report by the Shunglu Committee, appointed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in October last to probe irregularities in connection with the sporting extravaganza, had indicted Dikshit and Delhi Lt Governor Tejinder Khanna among several people for delays and losses in infrastructure projects for the Commonwealth Games.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists also staged a demonstration demanding Kalmadi's resignation as MP.
