CD row extends to land scam; Mayawati lauded Bhushans?

Shanti Bushan and his son Jayant Bhushan has been accused of acquiring two prime farm house plots in Noida from Mayawati government at a throwaway price.
According to the sources, the cost of each plot is Rs 3.5 crore and allottees had to pay just 10 percent - Rs 35 lakh - at the time of allotment, and the rest of the amount will be paid in 16 installments.
Shanti Bhushan has mentioned about the 20 thousand square metre plots in his declared assets, but did not mention anything about the discretionary manner in which the Mayawati government allotted the land to his family.
However, rejecting all allegations, Jayant Bhushan stated, "There is no conflict of interest. There is no question of asking any favour from the Mayawati government. This is all an attempt to malign us."
"We had applied for the land based on an advertisement in the newspaper for the land. We never checked if any draw for allotment ever happened or not. We made cheque payment for the land," added Jayant Bhushan.
Earlier, Bhushan's name had been raised in a 'CD-controversy' in which the former Law minister allegedly had a conversation with Samajwadi Party Leader Mulayam Singh Yadav.
The CD allegedly contains the conversation in which Shanti Bhushan telling Mulayam Singh that his son Prashant Bhushan can help in the matter of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
Meanwhile, Shanti Bhushan moved the Supreme Court and asked for proper investigation accusing Amar Singh of fabricating the CD not only to defame the senior advocate but also to interfere in the administration of justice.
