CPI(M) slams Mamata on Arunima incident

Sinha, a national level football and volleyball player, had lost her leg when she was pushed out of a running train near Bareilly on Monday.
"It shows utter callousness of Railway administration. Despite repeated cases, it has completely failed to provide safety to its passengers, particularly women," CPI(M) Polit Buro member Brinda Karat told PTI over phone from North Bengal where she is campaigning for Assembly elections.
Terming the incident as "completely avoidable", Karat said the Minister (Mamata Banerjee) has made several promises but the actual situation on ground shows that safety is her last priority.
"The Railways is not doing its job. We demand full compensation and complete rehabilitation of Arunima," Karat said.
