Income tax raid on top Tollywood stars
Television and web reports cite anonymous sources as saying, that some irregularities were found in advance tax assessment in the income tax of these actors.
Nagarjuna, is one of the richest stars of the Telugu film industry and his investments vary from entertainment channels to convention centres and restaurants. Apart from that, his son Nagachaitanya, also a star, charges equal fees as Nagarjunaa.
Ravi Teja, reported to be charging somewhere around Rs 3 Crore per film, has also been under the IT scanner, largely due to the lavish spending by his brothers. Anushka Shetty, a top-league actress in the south-Indian film industry was also under the lens for her real-estate investments.
Earlier this year, IT sleuths had also conducted early morning raids on the house of popular Hindi movie actresses Priyanka Chopr and Katrina Kaif.
