Stalin meets Shivaji hero; Rajni to be DMK's trump card?

Chennai, Mar 23: The political parties in Tamil Nadu are busy to achieve their pre-election goals during the campaigning period as the assembly polls 2011 is ringing its bell at the door. This is the time when all parties show their interests to use the star-popularity to own votes. And when discussion comes on super star like Rajnikanth, no parties would dare to miss the opportunity.

Sources informed that Deputy Chief Minister and ruling party DMK's treasurer M K Stalin met the Indian icon on Tuesday, Mar 22 at the leader's Poes Garden residence. Now, question may raise - whether Karunanidhi led DMK will utilise the popularity of Rajnikanth as a trump card?

Stalin and Rajnikanth's meeting caught most of the attention as there were rumours in the air that Jayalalitha led Opposition party AIADMK may approach the super star to voice for the party in the upcoming election.

However, DMK party sources stated that Stalin met Rajnikanth only to get good wishes before starting DMK's campaigning in the state. It seems that this time DMK really need some well wishes to hold back their power in Tamil Nadu. DMK has been entangled with 2G spectrum scam.

Citing Rajnikanth's stand before 1996 assembly election, the speculation about the super star's joining DMK has been brighten up. In 1996, Rajnikanth, during campaigning for the DMK, said, "Even God cannot save Tamil Nadu if the AIADMK comes to power again."

Many still believe that Rajnikanth's campaigning for DMK was one of the important factors which led the party to come into the power. Now, it will be really interesting to see that for whom the super star will give his valuable voice.
